Only Fools and Horses

The EastEnders star you probably never realised was in Only Fools and Horses

He was a cheeky chap and almost got thumped by Uncle Albert!

Older fans of EastEnders will remember Clyde Tavernier.

Played by Steven Woodcock, he was first introduced to the show in 1990 and featured in a lot of key episodes until 1993 when he was then written out.

Clyde was always a victim of race-related incidents by the police and was vilified as the prime suspect for a series of thefts that took place at the Queen Vic Pub.

He was cleared later of responsibility for these incidents, but the way he was treated stoked up a lot of resentment inside Clyde.

Clyde’s faces many ups and downs in his life, but he is given a happy send off as he moves from Walford to Trinidad in 1993.

Die hard followers of British sitcoms may know that Steven also starred as a minor character in Only Fools and Horses prior to his move to the East End of London.

He was one of Rodney’s mates, and sidekick of wily Mickey Pearce – he was Jevon, of course!

And boy do the duo love to stitch Rodney up.

They always liked to tease Rodney and infamously (and unknowingly) set him up with his future wife.

In the episode ‘Yuppy Love’, Rodney and his two chums are on the edge of the dance floor watching a couple of girls, one of whom is Cassandra.

Mickey’s already been rejected by one of them, and when Rodney claims she would dance with him, Jevon laughs and says “a tenner says she don’t.”

Jevon is soon out of pocket as Cassandra and Rodney dance the night away and his mates are flabbergasted.

Here, he teases Uncle Albert who is rudely awoken from his sleep and Jevon explains why the coach had to leave early

Jevon was not seen again in the show after this episode (Albert didn’t beat him to a pulp, don’t worry).

He is mentioned in a few later episodes but his name disappears from the show after 1991.
