Only Fools and Horses

The time David Beckham appeared on Only Fools and Horses you probably forgot about

David Beckham was revealed as a personal friend of Del Boy

David Beckham and Del Boy are unlikely friends, but in one special episode of Only Fools and Horses it was revealed that the two are, in fact, good pals.

In 2014, a new 10-minute episode of the 80s sitcom was created for Comic Relief on the BBC.

Both David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst returned as Del Boy and Rodney in the sketch, which was written by Jim and Dan Sullivan.

The script even included previously unused material written by their father John Sullivan, who created and wrote every Only Fools episode.

In ‘Beckham in Peckham’, Del Boy is trying to sell ‘Golden Balls’ underpants in Peckham market which are supposedly endorsed and signed by David Beckham. Rodney is modelling.

The pair fail to sell anything, so the Trotters retreat to a nearby cafe – where they’re sharing the table with David Beckham.

It turns out Beckham actually has endorsed the pants, and even gives Rodney tips on how to model the underwear better.

Of course, the episode ends with Del Boy and Rodney saying “What a plonker!” to Beckham as he goes to lean back on a market cart, but it’s moved it away while he isn’t looking and he falls to the ground. Classic.
