We all know that Kylie Jenner slays the beauty game, especially when it comes to her nails. The one thing a majority of her fresh sets have in common is that they’re long as hell, some of our favorite looks being her pearl-encrusted French manicure, her brown stiletto nails, and her retro French tips. However, her latest manicure couldn’t be more different from her normal claws. Is Jenner abandoning her go-to nail pastime?
The Kylie Cosmetics founder took to Instagram to post a pair of photos on March 31, captioned with a simple black heart emoji. The first photo shows her sitting on a couch in a leather-clad outfit, and the second offers a closer look at the manicure that we’ve been dying to see for the past few days.
Her nails are short and square-shaped, and they’re painted the cutest pastel pink for spring. I was never a fan of square nails, but Jenner is convincing me to trade in my oval mani for some squared-off acrylics. Speaking of faux nails, because of the thickness of the manicure, we’re thinking she’s rocking acrylic or gel nail extensions. Jenner could be taking a page out of the playbook of sister Kim Kardashian, the SKIMS founder who shockingly rocked short nails in February.
The rest of Jenner’s beauty look includes long wavy strands, and she appears to be wearing light makeup — though it’s hard to get a good look, since she’s looking away from the camera in the first photo.
With this manicure, Jenner just gave us even more nail inspiration. While we simp for any manicure she decides to wear, we’re taking this Instagram post as her official announcement that short nail spring has officially started. Let the games begin!
