According to Nickiswift, Travis didn’t have the greatest relationship with his father growing up. He even recalled many moments of his childhood when the two would get into fistfights in front of his friends.

Despite their tumultuous relationship, Travis, who unfollowed Kanye West, took on a similar career to his father. When Travis started to grow his career as a rapper, his father admitted to him that he didn’t like his music. His dad was a soul and jazz musician and, like many from his generation, didn’t understand the hype surrounding rap music. However, Travis still credits Jacques’ musical abilities for inspiring him to create the music he has today. The rapper even says his grandfather, who has his master’s in music composition and was a jazz composer, inspired him to be musically inclined (via Complex). Those in the Webster family with the name Jacques have a knack for pursuing and creating music.
