Jagged Alliance 3: Guaranteed drop locations for AK-74

Jagged Alliance 3 has a few weapons that excel in their tasks and AK-74 is one of them. It is easily one of the best assault rifles and even slightly outscored the other top-tier firearms in the category.
The only problem is that Haemimont made it a quite rare drop so many players tend to have only one of these guns in the entirety of their playthrough or sometimes maybe even none.
Thankfully, there are a few guaranteed ways to get it for all your lead-spitting needs.

AK-74 location in Jagged Alliance 3
The first guaranteed location is in Ille Morat (D17). You will need to have high loyalty with the town so make sure you help out the Beast, do a few missions in the vicinity and defend the town from Legion raids.
You will need to talk to Wlad the Tinkerer and exchange Parts for some of his creations. When he gives you an AK-47, do not discard it – keep it in your inventory. Eventually, one of the dialogue options will require you to trade him 20 Parts and an AK-47 so he can “modify” it. As a result, he will give you an AK-74, which is a far superior weapon.

The second location with a guaranteed AK-74 is the Oasis (B17), close to Eagle’s Nest, which serves as the Major’s base of operations. When you get to this sector, simply clear it of any enemies, loot it and you should come across a pond with a skeletal hand protruding from the ground. The hand will be holding a rifle, which will turn out to be an AK-74 when you loot it.

While the third location is much closer to the earlier parts of the game, it is not guaranteed that you will get the weapon in it, although there is a high chance that you will. It is in Highlands (B10). Enter the location and search for the cave entrance to go into the underground sector. Lead the way with your explosives expert as there are quite a few mines along the way.
Be prepared for a few tough fights as a pretty spongy sniper inhabits the cave along with three pairs of crocodiles. Once you’ve gone through all the enemies, proceed towards the end of the cave to a small plank that leads to a chest. Loot it and there is a good chance you will receive an AK-74.
