BBC Only Fools and Horses: What Damien Trotter actor Douglas Hodge who dated his co-star for almost 30 years looks like 26 years after show

Fans of Only Fools and Horses have the characters from the hit sitcom engraved in their minds – including those who only appeared briefly in episodes. Although the show focussed on the lives of brothers Del Boy and Rodney Trotter, and their many dodgy attempts at becoming insanely wealthy, more than a few extra cast members were also introduced.

At the time that the show was still on air, viewers become familiar with Del Boy and his wife Raquel Turner’s son named Damien Trotter. Damien was played by more than a few actors who portrayed him at different stages of his life – from being a toddler to his adolescent years through to his adulthood.

The grown-up Damien Trotter was played by Douglas Hodge. In the classic episode, Heroes and Villains, an older Damien declares war on China from Trotter Towers in a futuristic episode set in the year 2026. It also sees Rodney and Del dress up as Batman and Robin for a party which later turns out to be a wake in typical Only Fools and Horses irony.

Many years later, Douglas is now a Hollywood movie regular who starred in The Joker, The Descent Part 2, Sir Robert Loxley in Robin Hood, and Paul Burrell in the film Diana. The now 62-year-old has starred in a number of TV shows such as London’s Burning, Spooks, Skins, Outnumbered, The Great as well as the Netflix hit Black Mirror – to name a few.

The movie star was also the long-term partner to Raquel Turner star Tessa Peake-Jones, who played his on-screen mum Raquel Turner. The pair got together in 1984 and have two children, a son, Charlie, and a daughter, Mollie Rose but sadly it wasn’t meant to be and they ended their relationship back in 2013 after 27 years.
