Mila Kunis recalls filming the finale of ‘That ‘70s Show’: ‘I couldn’t stop crying’

It’s not so common for entertainers to spend years of their life on a hit sitcom, and it’s even refreshing to hear they have the fondest memories of their experience on a show.

It’s been years since “That ‘70s Show” ended but actress Mila Kunis remembers the final filming of the show like it was just yesterday.

What many may not know about Kunis is she “grew up” with Jackie Burkhart, who was her superficial spoiled rich girl, never-not-a-girlfriend, yet somehow always loveable character on the Fox sitcom.

Like, she literally grew up on the show. Kunis was the youngest cast member. When she got the role of Burkhart and filmed the pilot, she was 14 years old.

According to Koimoi, her young age overrode a policy that stated actors who auditioned for roles had to be at least 18 years old. During an interview on “Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” the actress revealed she told a little white lie about her age to get the part.

“I told them I was a little bit older…I told them I was gonna be 18, which is not technically a lie, cause at one point…I was gonna be 18,” Kunis said at the time.

The show’s producer later found out her true age, but they felt that Kunis was still right for the part.

That’s how it all started for Kunis who played her character from the show’s humble beginnings in 1998 to the show’s ending in 2006.

According to Yahoo, while appearing on “The Ellen Show” recently, which is airing its final episode on Thursday, host Ellen DeGeneres asked Kunis to think back to when “That 70′s Show” ended to where Kunis explained exactly how she felt.

“On the day, I couldn’t stop crying,” Kunis said. “I literally reverted to being a little kid and I just wanted someone to hold me.”

When the eighth and final season came to a close, Kunis was 22 years old.

“I went through puberty and high school and kissing, like everything,” Kunis said about the years she spent filming on set.

It’s no surprise there, considering the character has been a part of her for so long.

According to People, another interesting fact is that her current husband Ashton Kutcher, who was her on-screen boyfriend Michael Kelso, was her first kiss on the set of “That 70′s Show.” She had a massive crush on him.

But that comes as no surprise considering her age when she started the show.

Now 38, Kunis and the gang will be returning to Point Place Wisconsin in Netflix’s “That ‘90s Show” and it’ll be exciting to see where life has taken her character after all these years.
