EastEnders fans demand bosses sign Only Fools star John Challis after Sue Holderness joins cast

Some soap viewers are hoping for an epic reunion between the Boycie and Marlene actors on the BBC One Soap

EastEnders viewers are urging BBC bosses to sign Boycie star John Challis after if was announced his Only Fools and Horses co-star Sue Holderness would be joining the cast of the soap.

Famous for playing Marlene Boyce in the legendary BBC sitcom, Sue will be playing the role of Estelle who will grow close to Billy Mitchell after arriving in Walford to oversee a photo shoot involving his and Honey’s (Emma Barton) daughter Janet.

Speaking of her arrival in Albert Square, Sue said: “I was absolutely delighted to have been given the chance to visit Walford.

“It felt very surreal to be popping into the actual fish and chip shop, Ruby’s club, The Queen Vic, and wandering around the iconic Albert Square. I was ridiculously excited about the whole thing!

“After more than fifty years in the business it was my first time working on a soap and I loved the whole experience.”

However, fans want her to have a Walford reunion with her Only Fools husband John, 78, who played Boycie throughout the sitcom’s long run.

Taking to Twitter, one EastEnders fan said: “Cant wait to see Marlene (Sue Holderness) in EastEnders. Please bring Boycie in as well.”

A second suggested: “Imagine Boycie and Marlene reunited in EastEnders. Now that would be great to watch.”

A third wrote: “Is Boyce joining too #Eastenders the show needs more mature decent actors.”

“OMGGGGG MARLENE!!!! Yessss!!!!! Moreeeee Only Fools actors and actresses PLEASE!!!”, said one excited fan.

“Wow! She’s going to be amazing in this. I would keep expecting to see John Challis appearing my fave duo”, added another.

Sue Holderness will appear on screen as Estelle in EastEnders episodes due to air next month – so we don’t have long to wait for her arrival in Walford.
