Clint Eastwood Currently Suing Three Different CBD Companies

Clint Eastwood is filing another lawsuit against CBD companies that are making false claims regarding the actor and director endorsing their products.

Clint Eastwood vs. CBD Companies

This isn’t the first time Eastwood has fought against CBD companies. He’s filing a second lawsuit against Norok Innovation Inc. and its CEO Eric Popowicz. The lawsuit includes a different set of defendants compared to a previous suit, according to Law 360.

It accuses Norok and other entities of hiding his name in the company’s metadata in order to draw traffic searches on the web back to their CBD site.

Eastwood has previously sued Norok Innovation Inc. and Popowicz. He voluntarily dropped the lawsuits which make similar allegations in November of last year.

“Like many of his most famous characters, Mr. Eastwood is not afraid to confront wrongdoing and hold accountable those that try to illegally profit off his name,” says the lawsuit filed in California federal court.

Previous Lawsuits

Two other CBD companies are targets in a pending suit that began in March. Sera Labs, Inc., Greendios, and For Our Vets, LLC., are facing the accusation of creating articles and emails that make false claims about Eastwood endorsing certain products and having his own line of CBD products.

“By this action, Mr. Eastwood seeks to hold accountable the persons and entities that wrongfully crafted this scheme, spread false and malicious statements of facts about him, and illegally profited off of his name and likeness,” the lawsuit says.

The false articles have been modified to appear as though they come from authentic news sources. These will show up on different websites. They include a fake interview of Eastwood talking about his nonexistent CBD products. However, these products actually belong to the three companies that are facing the lawsuits.

“With rare exception, Mr. Eastwood reserves the exploitation of his personality rights and the goodwill associated therewith for his motion pictures and other entertainment-related projects, and for business ventures in which he is personally involved,” reads Eastwood’s lawsuit.

The suits are still pending.
