Only Fools and Horses script from 1989 Christmas special up for auction on eBay

Previously Only Fools and Horses scripts have been sold for more than £4,000

A rare Only Fools and Horses script from 1989 has surfaced on eBay and fans are willing to pay thousands of pounds for it.

On offer is a rehearsal script from the 1989 Christmas special The Jolly Boys’ Outing.

Written by John Sullivan, the script is a brilliant bit of memorabilia for a keen fan of the classic BBC comedy.

The seller is the niece of a make-up artist who is believed to have worked on the episode.

The seller posted on eBay: “This belonged to my late aunt, Dorka Nieradzik MBE, who was a make-up designer and presumably was the designer on this episode.”

The name of the make-up designer is on the front of the script, although the seller isn’t sure who wrote it there.

John Challis, the actor who played car dealer Boycie, took to Twitter to joke in character about not keeping his scripts.

He said: “Crikey. Wish I’d kept all my scripts.”

In the episode, Del Boy (David Jason), Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst, Uncle Albert (Buster Merryfield) and pals from Peckham, South London, head on a “beano” coach trip to Margate.

The episode aired on Christmas Day 1989, but was set on an August bank holiday weekend.

So far, there have been 40 bids and the highest stands at £1,400.

The iconic Heroes and Villains Christmas special script was previously sold for £4,100 so bids could get even higher.

If you want to get your hands on the script, bidding closes on Wednesday (June 9).

The seller also has Doctor Who scripts up for grabs from the episode Nemesis, as well as scripts from Last of The Summer Wine and Ain’t Half Hot Mum.
